    Ion Exchange Column Dry Wash

I have been brewing for about 4 years now and have been using the bubble wash technique.  I am looking into switching to one of the ion exchange dry wash methods and would like to hear about any experiences, pros or cons from those who are now using this wash method.

Thank you in advance for your input.

    Cheers, Dana

Re: Ion Exchange Column Dry Wash

Dry wash uses one of three (good?) products.  The first is purolite.  It is very popular on the web and has been developed and sold as the least expensive.  "You get what you pay for."  The other product used widely in Europe is Amberlite, BD-10.  This product perfoms better and is less of a hassle to put into the solid waste stream (AKA throw it in the garbage can when finished).  The efficiency numbers are also higher (BD10 mass to B100).  Then magosol,  a white pwoder that may be spread on the land as a soil supplement (maybe?).  Buy lots of filters.  Any volume less than 100 gallons per day should use a water wash ...it is just simpler and less expensive.

    Cheers, Rick
